Sharon Louise Pate-Hill

ADRIAN- Sharon Louise Pate-Hill, age 85, of Adrian, Michigan, passed away on Tuesday, June 30, 2026 at Lenawee Medical Care surrounded by her family and under the care of Hospice of Lenawee. Sharon was born on January 23, 1941, in Adrian, MI, the daughter of John E. and Dorothy M. (Snyder) Pate. She was raised in Adrian and graduated from Adrian High School in 1959. Sharon was fortunate to be a stay-at-home mom while her three daughters were young. Once all her girls reached school age, Sharon went to work for Morenci Public School and was the librarian at the middle school for 28 years. She made many lifelong friends from her time at Morenci. On February 14, 2001, Sharon married Gaylord Hill and they were fortunate to share over 22 years together before his death in 2023. They liked to stay busy and have fun; with dancing, going to auctions and car shows being part of their usual routine. Sharon enjoyed going to garage sales where she was always on the lookout for a good deal. She collected Raggedy Ann and Andy dolls over the years; and had a special room that displayed all her treasures. Sharon was a talented seamstress and had a green thumb when working out in her flower garden. Her family was often on the receiving end of her delicious baking with Texas sheet cake being a family favorite. Sharon always made time to create new memories with her family and was affectionately known as “Grandma Weez” by her grandchildren. She is survived by her daughters, Deb (Rich) Hoadley, Shari Sallows-Pate and Cindy (Sean) Seger; grandchildren, Sarah (Travis) Boecker-Trayer, Brandon (Stephanie) Coleman, Matt (Mara) Hoadley, Amanda (Matt) Slor, and Aubrey Seger; great-grandchildren, Adalyn and Isabel Boecker, Vivian, Eleanor and Grayson Trayer, Aria and Reagan Hoadley, Easton, Layna, Delia and Callum Coleman, and Penelope Slor; sister-in-law, Beverly Pate; and nieces and nephews, Kris Rash, Steve Pate, Jay Rohrback, Marc Sallows and Marnette Sutherland. Sharon was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Gerald Pate; and her cousin, Jack (Judy) Rohrback, who was like a brother to her. Visitation for Sharon will take place on Saturday, July 11, 2026, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Wagley Funeral Home, Adrian. Her funeral service will begin at 1 p.m. with Rev. William VanValkenburg officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Lenawee.
