Norman "Bud" Ray Peacock

August 17, 2026, in Adrian. Bud was born at home on December 2, 1930, at the four corners in Alamo, MI, the second oldest of five children to the late Ray and Grace (Noble) Peacock. He graduated from Otsego High School in 1949 and enlisted in the United States Air Force, serving from 1950-1953. In 1951, Bud married his high school sweetheart Joann Russell and moved to Blissfield in 1956 where they were blessed with two children. They shared many wonderful moments raising their family, going on camping adventures and being involved with Blissfield School sporting events and band boosters while their children were young. Bud especially enjoyed getting out on the water and fishing with Jann & Jeff whenever he had the chance. Joann passed away in 1981. Bud was fortunate to find love again and in 1984 he married Edna (Horton) Lamley. Edna’s family welcomed him into theirs, which was the beginning of a very special relationship that continued until his passing. For the next 30 years Bud and Edna created a life where they shared many interests—and supported each other’s interests—traveling around the United States visiting friends and family, making new acquaintances and forming new relationships. They attended the First United Methodist Church in Blissfield and were active & faithful participants in the life of the church and which in turn enriched their lives greatly. They both had a deep affection for the Blissfield community and cherished all the friends and neighbors who came into their lives. In the last several years of Bud’s life, he especially enjoyed his group of friends at the Blissfield Senior Center exercise class. Bud worked as an engineer for over 30 years at the Blissfield Manufacturing Company. He was a problem-solver by nature and traveled to many locations in the Midwest to troubleshoot industrial refrigeration systems. He was very proud to work there and considered many of his co-workers as second family. He is survived by his grandchildren, Richard Naugle, Cody Peacock and CJ Peacock; former daughter in law Tracy Peacock; brother in law Tim Russell; Edna’s children Duane & Beccy Lamley and Denis & Kathy Lamley and Edna’s son in law John Zahner; 9 step grandchildren as well as several great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Bud also had a very special relationship with neighbors & friends Rod & Teri Lippens and Jim & Stacey Clark and their families; as well as Edna’s grandson Caleb and granddaughter Rachel. He was preceded in death by his wives, Joann Peacock and Edna Peacock; children, Jann Leverenz and Jeffrey Peacock; siblings, Joyce Cramer, Lois Kitzmiller Ulery, Donald Peacock and Charles Peacock as well as Edna’s daughters Diane Carrico and Debra Zahner. There will be a memorial gathering of family and friends on Wednesday, August 26, 2026, at 2:00 PM at the United Methodist Church, Blissfield with Pastor David LaLone officiating; with one hour of visitation prior to the service. Military honors will be conducted by Blissfield American Legion Post 325. Inurnment will be private at Pleasant View Cemetery.
