Mary F. Brogan

ADRIAN – Mary Frances Brogan, age 87 of Adrian, passed away peacefully, Wednesday, July 13, 2016 at her home. She was born June 14, 1929 in Hudson, Michigan, to Fletcher and Grace (Ehlinger) Goodrich. After graduating from high school, she earned her Bachelor’s Degree from Eastern Michigan University. On February 20, 1954, Mary was married to Robert Brogan in Hudson, Michigan, and he preceded her in death in 1995. Mary taught school in Warren, Ohio where she retired in 1986 after teaching for 33 years. After retiring she and Robert moved to Adrian. She was a faithful member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Adrian, and was active in the Catholic Christian Women’s Club. Mary is survived by her nieces and nephews: James (Jo Ann) Goodrich, David (Abbie) Goodrich, Mary Pat Krumlauf, Joan Clement, Steven (Luanne) Goodrich, John Goodrich, Jo Ann Goodrich, and Philip Goodrich, Jr, as well as several nieces and nephews in the Brogan family. Also surviving are sisters-in-law Evelyn Goodrich, Nadeen Goodrich and Grace Goodrich. Mary’s family would like give special thanks to Caregivers Betty DeLine and Jeanne DeBruyn, friend Chris Wrona, and neice Barbara Miller for their dedication, kindness and care of Mary. Mary will be greatly missed by her friends and family. She will be remembered for her generosity, kindness, sense of humor and love of animals. In addition to Robert, her husband of 41 years, she was preceded in death by her siblings: Martha Clement, Philip Goodrich, Dorman Goodrich, and Robert Goodrich. Funeral Mass for Mary will take place at 11:00 a.m., Monday, July 18, 2016, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Adrian with Fr. Kurian Kollapallil officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Hudson. The family will receive friends at the church Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the service. A luncheon will follow the Mass at St. Joseph’s. It was Mary’s wish that in lieu of flowers to please consider memorial contributions to St. Joseph Church or the Lenawee Humane Society.
