Howard C. Heffron

CAVE CREEK, ARIZONA - Howard Cagwin Heffron, 80, after a brief illness died December 13, 2012, at his home with his loving family by his side. He was born on July 19, 1932, in Adrian the son of Dr. Howard H. and Grace (McPherson) Heffron. Howard graduated from the Kentucky Military Institute in 1950 and from Adrian College in 1958 where he was a member of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity. Between high school and college he served our country honorably in the Air Force during the Korean War Conflict. Howard lived and worked the better part of his adult life as an executive with Velsicol Chemical Corporation in Chicago, Illinois. Because of his expertise and reputation his work took him around the world internationally spending extensive time in Mexico City in chemical sales. After he retired in 1997 he moved to Cave Creek, Arizona. Howard grew up around horses and loved to ride. As a young man he often captained his father’s boat on Lake Erie and took friends and family on trips throughout the Great Lakes. After he moved to Arizona he took up gardening and his home was always surrounded by the beauty of the nature that surrounded him. Nothing was more important to Howard than his beloved family and friends. His smile could light up a room, it was contagious. He will be dearly missed by those that loved him. He is survived by a dear friend David Rolph of Cave Creek, Arizona, nieces and nephews: Diane (Raymond) Sapiro of Chandler, Arizona, Kathryn (Raymond) Mouser of Chandler, Arizona, Patricia (Heffron) Armstrong of Chesterton, Indiana, Nancy (Raymond) McDermott of Adrian, Michigan, Tracy (Heffron) Wright of Bloomington, Indiana, John Heffron of Westfield New Jersey, Susan (Heffron) Krametbauer of Peoria, Arizona, Howard Heffron of Michigan City, Indiana, Mary (Heffron) Hanson of SanDiego California. In addition to his mother and father he was preceded in death by his sister Nancy Delight (Heffron) Raymond, brothers: Jack M. Heffron and Robert A. Heffron. The family will receive friends on Friday, December 21, 2012 from 1-3 p.m. at the Wagley Funeral Home. Graveside services will follow at Oakwood Cemetery where military honors will be conducted by the VFW Annis Fint Post #1584. Donations can be made to Hospice of Lenawee County.
