Glenaleen "Lavell" Dusseau

ADRIAN- Glenaleen “Lavell” Dusseau, 93, of Adrian, Michigan died early Wednesday morning, June 14, 2023 at Lynwood Manor under the care of Promedica Hospice. Lavell was born on June 8, 1930 in Adrian, the youngest child of Dale and Eddy (Marple) Holden. She graduated from Adrian High School with the Class of 1948 and went on to obtain a bachelor’s in fine arts from Siena Heights University. Lavell married Theodore C. Dusseau and they shared many wonderful years together raising a family and creating many memories before his recent death on May 1, 2023. Providing a loving home for her family was Lavell’s top priority. Lavell ranked right up there with June Cleaver on always having a home cooked meal ready and a spotless home. She was very artistic and traveled to Italy in 1985 to teach an art class for a semester through Siena Heights College. Her family said, “Mom didn’t decorate, she remodeled, taking on whatever task that included”. Some of Lavell’s talents included being an excellent seamstress and sewing clothes for her children, refurbishing furniture, and she was an amazing cook with sugar cookies and apple pie being some of her favorites. Lavell was a “fashionista” before her time, never leaving the house without her lipstick, earrings and hair being done. Lavell and Ted enjoyed going to auctions and flea markets. She is survived by her children, Steve (Ruth) Dusseau, Becky Liedel and Kathy Cremeans; daughter-in-law, Deb Dusseau; grandchildren Deanna (Matt) Dusseau-Garno, Seth (Cassiday) Dusseau, Tommy (Nguyet) Flowers, Denise Dusseau, Devin (Matt) Dusseau-Bates, Melissa (Alex) Shively, Daniel (Lisa) Dusseau II, Ryan (Emily) Cremeans, Liz (Luke) Spencley, and Alex Cremeans; 25 great grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren. Lavell was preceded in death by her husband, Ted; son, Danny; sons-in-law, Larry Liedel and Keith Cremeans; granddaughter, Julie Dusseau; and great-granddaughter, Isabella Dusseau-Garno. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, June 18, 2023 at 2 p.m. at Wagley Funeral Home, Adrian with Jack Blaker officiating. Visitation will take place from 1 p.m. until the start of the service.
