Garry L. Morris

CLAYTON- Garry Lloyd Morris, age 74, of Clayton, MI, died Monday, December 23, 2024, at Henry Ford Hospital in Jackson, MI, surrounded by the love of his family. Garry was born on January 20, 1950, in Adrian, MI, the second oldest of Silas and Katherine (Buker) Morris’ four children. He graduated from Adrian High School in 1968 and remained good friends with many of his classmates. From an early age, Garry was interested in anything with an engine. His career had him working in the automotive field where he was a heavy equipment mechanic. He was employed with Delphi in Adrian for over 25 years. After “retiring” Garry went on to his second career where he worked at the Lenawee Country Club and was kept busy working on golf carts, leaf blowers, lawn mowers or anything else that needed attention. On June 8, 1996, Garry and Darlene (Nieman) Hansen were married in Las Vegas, NV. Over the past 28 years Garry and Darlene have shared many laughs and wonderful memories, including their trips to Mexico Beach, FL, where Garry could be found out in the sun surf fishing. Over the years, Garry belonged to the Moose Lodge, Eagles and American Legion. He could be found out on the golf course playing a round of golf with family and friends whenever he got the chance. In addition to his loving wife, Darlene, Garry is survived by his children Matthew (Morgan) Hansen, Dana Hansen and Kelly (James) Rincon; grandchildren, Colton Hansen, Briana Hansen and Henry Hansen; two wonderful great-grandchildren, Abel and Charleigh; and his siblings, Mary (Mark) Skeels and Mark Morris. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Susan Baker. Following Garry’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life honoring Garry will be held on Sunday, January 19, 2025, starting at 1:00 PM at the Eagles Club in Adrian. Please come and share some of your favorite memories.
