Cindy Sue Shively

CINDY SUE SHIVELY, 68, of Blissfield, Michigan, went to be with our Lord and Savior, JESUS CHRIST, on January 15, 2026, at ProMedica Hospital of Toledo, OH. Cindy was born on August 25, 1957, in Fremont, MI. She was the first child of David Allen Hepinstall and Lois Elaine (Reed) Hepinstall, and a resident of White Cloud, MI throughout her childhood, graduating from White Cloud High School in 1975. Cindy was very active, serving in a leadership role with the White Cloud United Methodist Church Youth Ministry during her teen years. After High School, Cindy enrolled in the Blodgett Memorial Medical Center School of Nursing in Grand Rapids, MI, and graduated with a diploma in Nursing in 1978. She had a long and distinguished career as a Registered Nurse (RN), starting in 1978 at the Mecosta County Medical Center in Big Rapids, MI, where she served as a Charge Nurse and Nurse Manager for 11 years. From there, Cindy transitioned to a position in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit at the University of Michigan Hospital in Ann Arbor, MI in 1989, serving as a Clinical Nurse II for 13 years, later serving as an RN in the U of M Ambulatory Centers and the Anticoagulation Service for U of M Hospitals for the remainder of her 41-year career as a professional caregiver. She was also an active member of the Michigan Nurses Association throughout her career. Cindy was preceded in death by her father, David Allen Hepinstall; her youngest brother, John Eric Hepinstall; and her nephew, Adam David Scott. She is survived by her husband, Michael King Shively, her mother, Lois Hepinstall, her brother, Mark (Marni) Hepinstall, and her sisters, Lori (Charles) Scott and Julie (Randy) Keller. Cindy’s life was also blessed with 16 nieces and nephews, who were very dear to her. Cindy loved laughter, music, and spending time with her many friends and family gatherings throughout her life, where she was known for cooking and baking dishes and desserts for everyone to enjoy. She was also very active with Bible Study Fellowship (BSF) for many years. A memorial service will be held on Friday, May 29th, 2026 at 2:00 PM at Element Church, located at 220 E. Jefferson St., Blissfield, MI, 49228. Visitation will begin at 12:30 PM at the church. A luncheon will follow the memorial service.
