SAND CREEK — Brandon K. VanEtten went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Monday, June 29, 2026. Born on January 18, 1976, in Adrian, Michigan, Brandon was the youngest child of Lowell and Sharon (Pigg) VanEtten. He was raised in Sand Creek alongside his two older sisters, where he developed a lifelong appreciation for the beauty of the countryside and the peace of nature. Brandon graduated from Sand Creek High School with the Class of 1994. Brandon was known for his strong work ethic and his kind, positive spirit. For more than 30 years, he worked in service-oriented roles, always taking pride in helping others and doing every job with dedication and integrity. For the past ten years, he faithfully served in the custodial department at Tecumseh School District, where his cheerful attitude, reliability, and genuine kindness left a lasting impression. He embraced each day as a gift and lived with gratitude and optimism. Music brought Brandon happiness and was rarely far from him, whether he was mowing the lawn, grilling outdoors, or taking a drive. More than anything, he cherished his family. He spoke with or visited them nearly every day, and the close bond they shared was one of life’s greatest blessings. Some of Brandon’s favorite moments were spent on the water with his father, his best fishing buddy. Together they enjoyed countless fishing trips filled with conversation, laughter, and the simple joy of being together—catching fish was just an added bonus. He also loved traveling with his parents, making treasured memories in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, Fairhope, Alabama and on Mackinac Island, places that always brought him peace and happiness. Thoughtfulness was simply part of who Brandon was. He found joy in brightening someone else’s day with an unexpected card, a small gift, or a simple act of kindness. He was a beloved uncle to his nieces and nephews, who affectionately knew him as “Uncle B.” His love for them was evident in the time he spent with them and the special memories they will forever cherish. Brandon’s faith in Jesus Christ was the foundation of his life. A lifelong member of Bethany Assembly of God, he faithfully served as an usher and greeter, welcoming everyone with a warm smile and genuine kindness. He also volunteered his time at the church anywhere at anytime. He had a special way of making people feel seen, valued, and loved, reflecting Christ in both his words and his actions. Brandon is lovingly remembered by his parents, Lowell and Sharon VanEtten; his sisters, Michelle (Frank) Radtke and Alicia (Shane) White; and his cherished nieces and nephews, Taylor (Mackenzie) Radtke, Cory Radtke, Leo Findley, Summer Findley, and Noah Findley. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Frank and Elma VanEtten, Leo and Velma Pigg, and his beloved aunt and uncle, Carolyn and John Taylor. Private family services will be held. Brandon will be laid to rest at Lenawee Hills Memorial Park in Adrian. Memorial contributions may be made to Bethany Assembly of God. Arrangements have been entrusted to Wagley Funeral Home in Adrian, where online condolences and cherished memories may be shared.
