Timothy Clyde Nortley

February 2, 1959 - August 30, 2020

ADRIAN – Timothy Clyde Nortley, 61, lifelong resident of Morenci, MI and Fayette, OH died early Sunday morning, August 30, 2020 at ProMedica Bixby Medical Center in Adrian surrounded by his family. Born February 2, 1959, in Morenci, he was the son of the late Nathan and Mildred “Bill” (Watters) Nortley. Tim was a proud Morenci Bulldog, graduating with the class of 1977. A gifted mechanic, he was the sole proprietor of Nortley’s Garage which he started in Morenci, later moving to Fayette, before returning to Morenci where he eventually retired just three years ago, following a heart attack. In his spare time, Tim liked wrenching on vehicles, especially his 1972 Challenger; and his pride and joy, his 1997 red Ford F 350. An outdoorsman, he found joy in trailer camping, deer and squirrel hunting, and fishing. Tim also enjoyed Tigers Baseball, playing cards on Friday nights, gambling, and trips to casinos – especially Las Vegas. On April 29, 1978 Tim married Kimberly A. Johnson at the Morenci First Congregational Church, where they were members. Kim survives to cherish over 42 years of memories. In addition to his loving wife Kim, Tim is survived by his children, to whom he was a great mentor, Timothy Clyde (Jessica) Nortley, II of Waldron and Nicole (Scott) Harding of Wauseon; his grandchildren, whom he took great pride in, Ally, Makayla, and Mariah Nortley, Caden Borton, and Kinley and Kyser Harding; a very special nephew, Scott (Tiffany) Nortley of Adrian; and his Jack-a-Poo, Bailey. Tim was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Mary Lou Sprague. A memorial service for Tim will take place on Friday, September 4, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. at the Morenci First Congregational Church with Pastor Greg Morrison officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery, Morenci. A memorial visitation will be held on Friday at the church beginning at 12:00 p.m. and continue until the time of the service. Wagley Funeral Home, Adrian has been entrusted with arrangements. Following the Governor’s executive order, all attendees are required to wear a proper face covering, with the exception of those under the age of five years old or those who cannot medically tolerate. The family suggests that memorial contributions to honor Tim be made to Morenci Area EMS. Online memories and condolences may be shared at www.WagleyFuneralHomes.com.
