Sharon Lee Kleinow

July 4, 1951 - June 12, 2022

TECUMSEH – Sharon Lee Kleinow, 70, of Tecumseh died on Sunday, June 12, 2022 at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan. Born on July 4, 1951 in Tucson, Arizona, Sharon was one of ten children in David and Alice (Lapish) Mayo’s family. Her stepfather, Howard Stone, was a big part of Sharon’s life and helped raise her. She attended Denby High School in Detroit and went on to attend Western Michigan University. On December 21, 1969 Sharon married Donald Kleinow and together they had nine children. Sharon’s loving and caring personality made her an incredible mother to her children but also to the neighbor kids or any friends that stopped over. It was the norm to have extra plates set at the dinner table for friends and there was always enough to eat. Sharon was very talented and artistic, mending clothes for her family and sewing Halloween costumes. Holidays were a special time for the family to decorate together. Sharon took Christmas decorating seriously and she always had a plan for the Kleinow Family Christmas light display. Her children confirm that the family won the decorating contest in Hudson one year under Sharon’s direction. In the summer, you could find Sharon out working in her flower beds and window boxes. She is survived by her children, Donny Kleinow, Janna (Alex) Rueda, Mandie (Jordan) Wilson, Christopher (Stacey) Kleinow, Jonathon (Cynthia) Kleinow, Katelyn (Eric) Tumara, Levi (Nichole) Kleinow and Hannah (Thomas) Lanczki; 21 grandchildren; siblings, Laura Jimines, Gary Mayo, Tammy Stone, Nancy Jensen, Keith Stone, Kenneth Stone, Brian Stone and Becky Stone; and Jessie Hepker her good friend and the Lucy to her Ethel. Sharon was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Donald; son, David Kleinow and brother, David Mayo. Following Sharon’s wishes cremation will take place. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, June 18, 2022 at 3 p.m. at Wagley Funeral Home, Adrian. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the celebration.
