November 3, 1935 - May 9, 2018
Ruth (Borton) Lange Ruth Lange, 82, danced into heaven on Wednesday, May 9th, 2018. Ruth was born on November 3rd, 1935, a daughter of the late Hazen and Doris Borton, in Wauseon, OH. She graduated from Chesterfield High School, then Huntington College and later went on to become a School Psychologist at Hillsdale ISD. Ruth embraced loving life and welcomed all to share in her joy-filled journey. A loving testament of her faith, Ruth lived her life such that others could easily see her love of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, through her. Her faith was strong and helped guide her decisions. Over the years, Ruth shared her love through church ministries, prayer circles, and home groups. A trip to Swaziland in 2006 rekindled a lifelong interest in serving in Africa. She followed that with a visit to Msomi Teachers College and orphanage in Migori, Kenya, in 2008, where she began a strong partnership that continued the rest of her life. Ruth appreciated all of God’s creation and took great pleasure in getting her hands and toes into the dirt. She spent countless hours tending to seedlings and the needs of her gardens as she communed with God in her gardens. Her life touched many lives through her sharing her bountiful flowers and gardens with her church, community, friends and strangers. Ruth was happiest when spending time with her family and friends and looked forward to the parties at her home where she could be found grinning while talking with people. Her home was open to all as a refuge, a place of celebration, sharing or support. All who knew Ruth understood how much she enjoyed sharing life with others. She was devoted to her husband, children and grandchildren. She supported, respected and loved her family and friends unconditionally. She was a woman of strong faith, believing in God’s strength and faithfulness. She leaves her cherished memories to be honored by husband of nearly 62 years, Dean Lange, her children, Sarah, Joy, Jim, Sheldon, and Mary, their partners in marriage, 11 grandchildren who all made her eyes twinkle and her heart sing, her loving siblings, Melvin, Vonda, Shirley and Lyle, and many nieces and nephews. She joined her sister, Donna, and her brother, Lee, who were already in heaven. Visitation will be held Friday May 18th from 1:30 – 3 at Gateway Community Church in Onsted, Michigan, with a Celebration of Life Service at 3 pm. Donations honoring Ruth’s life may be given to continue her partnership with Msomi Teachers College and orphanage in Migori, Kenya at www.youcaring.com/RuthsHeartForAfrica.
