Monica Lee McCarty Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

NOVI—Monica L. McCarty, 63 of Novi, formerly of Blissfield, passed away May1, 2017, at Providence Park Hospital in Novi, MI. She was born on October 6, 1953, in Adrian, MI to Richard A. and Ivadell C. (Goll) McCarty. After graduating from Blissfield High School in 1971, Monica attended Central Michigan University where she earned her Bachelor’s degree in business. She worked as an auditor mainly for K-Mart, which allowed her to travel, and she also was an auditor for several other companies. Knitting, crocheting, collecting dolls and bells and experimental cooking were her favorite pastimes. Monica was a former member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Blissfield. Survivors include her mother, Ivadell; siblings, Loretta (Keith) Mills of Blissfield, Martin (Judith) McCarty of Tecumseh; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her father, Richard, she was preceded in death by her sister, Karilyn Nieman. Funeral services for Monica will be 11 am, Friday, May 5, 2017 at Wagley Funeral Home, Tagsold Chapel, Blissfield with Rev. Gary Leking officiating. Burial will follow at Palmyra Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Tagsold Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to the family to help with funeral expenses .
