Ilo Evelyn Toncre Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

ADRIAN – Ilo Evelyn Toncre, 88, of Adrian, died Sunday evening, February 6, 2022 at The Oasis of Adrian, while under the loving care of Hospice of Lenawee. Born October 24, 1933 she was the daughter of Arthur David and Ruby Ilo (Brown) Worcester of Cleveland, Ohio. Growing up in Cleveland, Ilo enjoyed being a majorette in high school with plans of going on to college after graduation. These plans changed when Ilo went to work for the summer at Shell Oil in Cleveland, and met her future husband, James Toncre. On December 20, 1952 Ilo married James E. Toncre. They cherished over 64 years of marriage until he preceded her death five years ago to the day, February 6, 2017. Ilo devoted her life to her family and supported them in many ways. She loved to entertain and was an exceptional hostess. Ilo took great pride in her cooking and finding recipes that she turned into incredible dinner parties, family gatherings and wonderful tailgates. Ilo and James loved attending the Adrian Symphony Orchestra. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Adrian and P.O.E. Hospice of Lenawee was a charity the Toncre family was involved in and supported for many years. Ilo is survived by her son, Craig (Kelly) Toncre of Maumee, OH; grandchildren, Kari and Eric Toncre, also of Maumee, OH; sister, Carol Hibinger; and close family friend, Erika Kope. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, James; and son, Scott. Visitation for Ilo will be held on Thursday, February 10, 2022, from 4 to 6 p.m. at Wagley Funeral Home in Adrian. Graveside services will be private at Mentor Municipal Cemetery in Mentor, Ohio. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Lenawee.
