Gary Edward Suydam

ADRIAN – Gary Edward Suydam, 72, of Adrian died on Thursday, January 28, 2022 at Regency Hospital in Sylvania, Ohio. He was born on August 9, 1949 in Adrian, Michigan to Edward and Sarah (Fabiano) Suydam. He attended Michigan State University studying criminal justice. Gary had a thirst for learning his whole life taking classes that interested him. You could always find Gary on the porch with a book in his hand. On June 18, 1983 Gary married Lori Tavierne and they have shared 38 years together. Gary retired from Adrian Steel after 30 years of dedicated service. He was a true hockey fan, whether it was cheering on the Detroit Redwings or coaching his son’s hockey team in Toledo and Monroe. Gary enjoyed the challenge of a good crossword puzzle and would focus on this before going on to read the newspaper. In addition to his wife, Lori, Gary is survived by his children, Danielle (Tony) Ebert, Kyle (Alicia) Suydam and Joel (Kassondra) Suydam; grandchildren, Alexis, Aaliyah and Easton Ebert, Kyleigh and Max Suydam, and Bennett and McKenzie Suydam; brothers, Dennis (Cindy) Suydam and David Suydam; brother-in-law, Gary (Sarah) Tavierne; and 4 nieces and 1 nephew. He was preceded in death by his parents. Following Gary’s wishes cremation will take place with no services at this time. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of your choice in Gary’s name.
