Curl K. Lawler

September 28, 1922 - November 11, 2021

ADRIAN – Curl K. Lawler, 99, of Adrian went to her Heavenly Home early Thursday morning, November 11, 2021 at Lenawee Medical Care Facility with her loving family by her side, while under the compassionate care of Hospice of Lenawee. Born September 28, 1922 in Hackleburg, Alabama, she was one of eleven children born to John and Elizabeth (McCaig) Kennedy. On March 6, 1937, Curl married Odell C. Lawler in Marion County, Alabama. Together they cherished over 66 years of memories and love until he preceded her in death on July 23, 2003. Curl was employed for many years at American Chain and Cable, as well as serving as a private aide in the home healthcare industry. However, she took the most pride in being a wife and mother, by lovingly caring for her family and her home. Curl has been an active member of Bethany Assembly of God in Adrian, since 1945. Curl demonstrated a warm hospitality to all and opened her home to anyone in need. Curl is survived by her three beloved daughters, Fayrene (Kenneth) Martin of Adrian, Sue Newell of Hackleburg, Alabama and Darlene (Dennis) Duttlinger of Wailuku, Hawaii; nine grandchildren, Kenneth (Phyllis) Martin, III, Mary Beth (Steve) Bradshaw, Linda Mitchell, Julie (Larry) Carpenter, Pamela Montgomery, Nicole (Randy) Tucker, John Eric Rumpf, Amanda (Andrew) Marn, and Jordan Duttlinger; eleven great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, Odell, she was preceded in death by her 10 siblings, son-in-law, Wayne Newell and grandson, Rich Montgomery. All services are private and have been entrusted into the care of Wagley Funeral Home, Adrian. Curl’s family would like to thank the staff at Lenawee Medical Care and Hospice of Lenawee for all the care and attention they provided to Curl over the years and in the last chapter of her life. The family suggests that memorial contributions to honor Curl’s memory be made to Hospice of Lenawee. Online condolences and memories may be shared at www.WagleyFuneralHomes.com.
