Barbara "Millie" Miller Pruett

ADRIAN – Barbara “Millie” Miller Pruett, age 69, died Saturday, February 12, 2022, at her home. She was born July 22, 1952, in Pitman, New Jersey, the oldest daughter of Robert and Carolyn (DeLaney) Miller. Millie earned a bachelor's degree from Adrian College where she met her future husband, Ronald Pruett, whom she married January 18, 1975. Their marriage started an adventure that included opening a Frosty Boy in Napoleon, Ohio, owning and operating West Pointe Party Shoppe and later Jerry’s Grocery and Suds City Coin Laundry, numerous winter vacations to different locations in the Caribbean, many trips to the New Orleans Wine & Food Experience, and over 40 years of hosting Ron’s Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity brothers during Adrian College home coming. In their work and travel, Millie and Ron met many people who became good friends. Millie was currently working at Gross, Puckey, Gruel & Roof. Previously she worked at Uarco, Hamblin Printing, and Boldt & Malloy. Millie shared her talents as an accountant serving as treasurer on the board of directors for Lenawee Humane Society and Adrian Symphony Orchestra. She loved animals, music, art, antiques and oriental rugs. Millie is survived by her husband Ron, a sister, Anne (Donald) Parrish, nieces Holly and Robin, sister in law, Barbara, and many dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents. In celebration of Millie’s life, a gathering of family and friends will take place from 1 to 4 p.m., Saturday, February 19, 2022, at Wagley Funeral Home. In honor of Millie’s love of animals, memorial contributions are suggested to Lenawee Humane Society for their capital campaign.
