Virginia L. Roesch

ADRIAN – A life well lived, Virginia L. Roesch, age 88 of Onsted, peacefully went to be with her Lord, Monday, January 6, 2014. She was born September 25, 1925 in Onsted, Michigan, to Lyle A. and Clara M. (Straub) Gibson. She graduated from Onsted High School in 1943. On June 26, 1943, Virginia married Harvey Roesch in the same house in which she was born. They celebrated 53 years of marriage prior to his death in 1996. Virginia was a vibrant woman who led a very full life. She owned an insurance business, served several years as the Cambridge Township Treasurer, and was the resident manager for Wexford Manor for many years. Virginia was a faithful member of the Lutheran Church of the Lakes. She was also a life-time member of the American Legion Post #550 Auxiliary. Most importantly, Virginia found ways to help those around her. She is survived by her daughter, Connie (Robert) Barth of Onsted; grandchildren: Jeffery (Laura) Barth, Brent (Tami) Barth, Carlene Moore, and Garrett (Sara) Barth; great grandchildren: Dan (Kylie) Myers, Rob (Amy) Stucker, Teige, Rourke and Macyn Barth, Hailee, Hayden and Harrison Moore, Rex Parsons, Grady and Georgia Barth and several special nieces and nephews. Also surviving are many treasured friends especially those at Lenawee Medical Care Facility. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Wirt Gibson. A memorial Celebration of Life service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 18, 2014, at Lutheran Church of the Lakes with Rev. Steven Newberg officiating. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at the church.
