Viola E. Henry

Viola E. Henry, 88, an Adrian resident from birth (March 19, 1927), passed away on March 31, 2015 at Jensen Cottage in Billings, Montana where she had recently moved. She was the daughter of Charles and Ollie (Cable) Byrd. Vi was delivered at home by Adrian’s first lady doctor. Vi married William J. Henry in Adrian in 1944. She is survived by her one brother Clarence (Ida Chen) of Chelsea, Quebec, Canada; by her 2 daughters, Linda (James) Fisher of Red Lodge, Montana, and Lucy (Ron) Curtis of Everett, Washington; 2 grandchildren: Candace (Shane) Berkman of Billings, Montana, Scott (Melanie) Fisher of Las Vegas, Nevada; and 8 great grandchildren Brandon Berkman, Ciara Berkman, Caevee Fisher, Ceana Fisher, Kevin, Brian, and Chad Curtis, and Jack Glaser. She was preceded in death by her husband (September 3, 2007), parents, two brothers in infancy and one grandson, Jack Glaser. She attended Adrian Public Schools and Siena Heights College. She was employed for 32 years in the Adrian High School Library. She served on several boards and volunteered: THUB, LCS, Community Nursery, Senior Citizens and Adrian Garden Club. She enjoyed playing cards and dominoes with friends, attending Bible Studies and was an avid reader. She spent the last 15 winters in Mesa, Arizona, enjoying the outdoor pool, playing Mah Jong and was in a writing club. She enjoyed family and friends, crafts, camping, the beauty of nature – gifts from her Lord and Savior. She had attended Trenton Hills United Brethren Church since 7 years old, accepting her Savior and meeting her future husband there. Funeral services for Vi will take place on Wednesday, April 8th at 11 a.m. at Wagley Funeral Home, with Rev. Keith Smith officiating, burial will follow at Palmyra Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday, April 7th at Wagley Funeral Home, and from 10 a.m. until the time of service on Wednesday.
