Thelma F. DeLine

“Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered.” Psalm 32:1 SAND CREEK - Our beloved mother, grandmother, sister and friend, Thelma Frances (Baugh) DeLine left our arms to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on January 2, 2015 at the age of 85. Thelma was born February 13, 1929 on “the home place” in Fairfield Township, the seventh of eleven children of Ellis Adelaide Richeson and Lewis Deo Baugh. On September 18, 1949 she was united in marriage to Rev. John Hiram DeLine and they celebrated 62 years of marriage before John went to “Glory” on May 20, 2012. She was Pastor DeLine’s faithful supporter and helpmeet as he pastored four local churches. Currently, she was a member of Reformed Baptist Church of Lenawee. She is survived by four children: Rachel (Carlos) Tobar, Stephen (Lori) DeLine, Mark (Linda) DeLine, and Martha (Clifford) Middleton; 10 grandchildren: Benjamin Tobar, Lydia (Alex) Tiseo, John H. (Kathy) DeLine III, Stephen P. (Lynn) DeLine II, Emily DeLine, Scott DeLine, Abigail DeLine, Ivan Middleton, Shannon Middleton, and Allison (Colin) Mullaney; 3 step-grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren “on the way”. She is also survived by 3 sisters: Mona Summers, Nina Clement, and Maizie Blain; 2 sisters-in-law: Bobby Baugh and Betty Baugh; a cousin Melvin Baugh, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and her siblings: Hazel Baugh, Helen Summers, Richard Baugh, Ruth Lee, Wayne Baugh, Marjorie Baugh, and Elsie Gillin, a grandson Chad DeLine, and a great-grandson Justin DeLine. Mom will be fondly remembered for reading stories to her grandchildren, her green thumb, her warm home, her competitive spirit at table games, her beautifully crocheted afghans and filet crocheted tablecloths, and her love of Scripture. At the time of her death she had committed the first 32 Psalms of the Bible to memory in their entirety. Burial will be private. A memorial service will take place Tuesday, January 6, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at Wagley Funeral Home with Pastor Calvin Walden officiating. Visitation and fellowship with the family will follow. Memorial contributions may be made to Clayton Bible Church or Reformed Baptist Church of Lenawee. “My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all, and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father’s hand.” John 10: 27-29
