Ted M. Reyome

DEERFIELD- Ted M. Reyome, age 88, of Deerfield, MI died Sunday evening, January 14, 2024, at Flower Hospital in Sylvania, Ohio surrounded by his family. Ted was born on November 14, 1935, in Woodville, OH, the son of Frank and Carrie (Myerholtz) Reyome. He was one of 10 children in the Reyome family, where life was never dull. He went to school in Bowling Green before the family moved to Blissfield in 1950. Ted served in the United States Air Force from 1956 to 1960. On July 12, 1981, Ted married Dawn Gentz at an apple orchard in Blissfield. During their 42 years together, they have been blessed with a loving family and shared a strong bond that has grown as the years rolled on. Ted worked as a welder for 30 years and operated Reyome Upholstery out of the family home. After retiring from upholstering, he enjoyed fishing, camping, gardening, yard work and reading John Grisham novels. In addition to his wife, Dawn, Ted is survived by their children, David (Jackie) Reyome of Hillsdale, Annette (Edward “Eddie”) Mirelez of Tennessee, Steve (Brenda) Reyome of Palmyra and Tina (Randy) Kidman of Standish; 12 grandchildren and 21great-grandchildren which he loved and enjoyed very much; siblings, Sharon (Tom) Knepper of Washington, Butch “Jack” (Linda) Reyome of Myrtle Beach, SC and Sandy (Ira) Fick of North Carolina; brothers-in-law, Bruce Gentz, Dwight (Roxanne) Gentz and Duane Gentz and sister-in-law, Rita (David) Kuhl along with numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, infant brother Jimmy; brothers, William (Carolyn) Reyome, Richard (Nancy) Reyome, Jerry (Darlene) Reyome and Donald (Mary Ellen) Reyome; sister, Ocie “Kit” (Gerald) Taulker; father-in-law, Norman Gentz, sisters-in-law, Karen Gentz and Carlene Gentz; niece, Michelle (Gentz) Bailey and nephew, James Gentz Memorial visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 24, 2024, from 11:00 a.m. until the time of funeral services at 1:00 p.m. at the Wagley Funeral Home-Tagsold Chapel in Blissfield, with Pastor Ken Huner officiating. Burial will follow at Riga Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Deerfield Fire Department, Saint Peter’s Lutheran Church (Petersburg) or to the family for future designation.
