Susan Marie Fucinari-Stranges

ADRIAN- Susan Marie Fucinari-Stranges, age 68, of Adrian, MI, left this world on Wednesday, October 16, 2024, at home surrounded by the love of her family and under the care of Arbor Hospice. Susan was born on March 1, 1956, in East Detroit, MI, the third child of Peter and Evelyn (Milkiewicz) Fucinari’s five children. After graduating from high school, Susan went on to attend Eastern Michigan University where she earned her bachelor’s degree in education and master’s in special education. Susan started her teaching career at Deerfield Public Schools before moving on to Springbrook Middle School in Adrian. Susan loved working with the students and made an impression on all who knew her. She retired from teaching after 30 years of commitment and dedication. On June 26, 1981, Susan married Robert Stranges in East Detroit, and for the next 43 years they shared many hopes and dreams as their story evolved. They were blessed when their son, Antonio, came along and made their family complete. There was always a reason for celebrating, at least twice a month, with their large extended family. Over the years, there were memorable cruises taken with “30 of their closest relatives” and trips out to California to visit Antonio. Susan was naturally gifted in design and whatever project she was working on was presented beautifully; this included the Victorian style theme of the family home or even when she was preparing food for dinner. Susan always gave it her all and made everything feel like a celebration. She enjoyed making beaded and metal jewelry and spending time outside gardening. In addition to her loving husband, Robert, Susan will be missed by her son, Antonio; siblings, Carl (Cathy) Fucinari, Claudia More, David (Yvonne) Fucinari and James (Sheri) Fucinari; many wonderful friends that she treasured; and her beloved cat, Luigi. Susan was preceded in death by her parents Visitation will take place on Wednesday, October 23, 2024, Noon to 1:00 PM at Wagley Funeral Home, Adrian. Funeral services will begin at 1:00 PM with Pastor Dan Crist officiating.
