Samuel Edward Brown

MANCHESTER- Samuel “Sam” Edward Brown, 65, of Manchester, Michigan passed unexpectedly Monday morning, August 1, 2022 at his home. Born on June 28, 1957 in Alberta, Canada, he is the son of Clarence E. and Betty Rae (Underwood) Brown. Sam grew up appreciating country living and aspired to have a farm of his own one day. In 1975 Sam graduated from Calvary Christian Academy in Ypsilanti, Michigan. On July 12, 1996, Sam married Sandra Garza in Toledo, Ohio and they recently celebrated their 26 th wedding anniversary. Sam’s early career experience varied from working in a tuxedo shop, to owning his own business. Sam ended his career at Chrysler-Chelsea Proving Grounds, remaining there for over 10 years. He started as an endurance test driver and went on to work in inventory control. Sam felt strongly about giving back to his community and was involved with the service outreach program through Chrysler and the Christian Motorcycle Association (CMA). He attended Immanuel Bible Church with his family in Chelsea, MI. As a dedicated father, Sam supported his children at all their school activities and events. He enjoyed camping with his family through rain or shine. You would often find Sam relaxing on the porch listening to worship or Motown music. He liked creating his own “dishes” in the kitchen and rarely followed a recipe. Weekends were specially marked by a buttermilk pancake breakfast. Sam expressed his love by packing his family’s lunches each morning for many years. He had a love for motorcycle riding and in recent years owned several different bikes- a BMW, Harley and his favorite, a vintage blue Indian Road Master. He is survived by his wife, Sandra; father, Clarence E. Brown; children, Jennifer Nicole (Phil) Strunk, Samuel Carl Brown, Selena Naomi (Alex) Saenz de Viteri, Sasha Esperanza Brown, Sedona Rae Brown, and Starr Iliana Brown; grandchildren, Landon, Cooper and Raegan Strunk, and Matthias and Isaac Brown; and sister, Belva Rae (Stephen) Kotlarczyk, Samuel was preceded in death by his mother, Betty Rae Brown. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 9, 2022 at 11 a.m. at Immanuel Bible Church in Chelsea with Pastor Jeff Heim officiating. Burial will follow at Lenawee Hills Memorial Gardens in Tecumseh. Visitation will take place on Monday, August 8, 2022 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Immanuel Bible Church and then again one hour prior to the start of the service.
