Robert L. Hill

ADRIAN—Robert ‘Buckeye Bob’ L. Hill, 68 of Adrian, went home to be with his Lord, Monday, September 15, 2014 at his home in the presence of his loving family. Born on November 18, 1945, in Napoleon, OH, he was the oldest son of Bernadine A. (Keller) and Donald Allen Hill. He graduated from Grand Rapids High School in OH. On May 24, 1965, he married Karen Shufelt, they just celebrated their forty ninth and a half wedding anniversary. She survives. Bob was the owner operator of Bob’s Car & Truck Repair on Tipton Highway for 26 years. His son in law, Ed worked with Bob for 18 years at the business. He was a family man who loved fishing and camping, was a diehard OSU Buckeye fan and an ASA and super late model car racing crew member/ mechanic for Roumell Racing Team. For 26 years, Bob proudly served on the Adrian Twp. Fire Department. He was a devoted member of the Blissfield Baptist Church. In addition to his loving wife, Karen, Bob is survived by his children, Kim (Lori) Hill-Goddette of Canton, MI, Rob (Teena) Hill, Kelly (Ed) Williams and Michelle (Wayne) Buie, all of Adrian; his brothers, Ben (Sue) Hill of Haskins, OH, Don (Linda) Hill, Jr. of McClure, OH, Vern Hill of Napoleon, OH and Guy (Kim) Hill of Napoleon, OH; grandchildren, Caitlin (Kale) , Jakob (Andrea), Shelby, Sarah, Lindsay (Robert), Aly, Cody, Joey, Josh, Gabrielle and Candace and great grandson, Luis. Bob dearly loved his family and will be greatly missed by all of them. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Raymond, a sister, Wilma and a son in law, Richard. Funeral services for Bob will be 10 a.m. at Blissfield Baptist Church, on Friday, September 19, 2014 with Pastor Tom Frantz officiating. Burial will follow at Lenawee Hills Gardens, Tecumseh. The family will receive friends at Wagley Funeral Home, Adrian on Thursday, September 18 from 2 -4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Adrian Township Fire Department will do a walk through on Thursday at 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to Blissfield Baptist Church, Lymphoma Leukemia Society or Great Lakes Caring Hospice.
