Ozenna Haskell Simmons

ADRIAN – Ozenna (Lolley) Haskell Simmons, 73, of Adrian died Monday, September 6, 2021. Born August 27, 1948 in Hamilton, AL, she was the daughter of Clovis Lee and Mozella (Whitworth) Lolley. Ozenna was a proud Madison High School class of 1966 graduate. She continued her education and earned her Associate’s Degree from Sienna Heights University. Ozenna was employed as the Office Administrative Assistant and Legal Secretary at Tecumseh Products for over 20 years, until her retirement in 2007. She was raised in and attended the Church of God of Prophecy throughout her lifetime. She was a member of the Adrian Moose Club and was lifetime member of the VFW Women’s Auxiliary and the AMVETS of Adrian. On June 18, 2005 Ozenna married Robert K. Simmons in a backyard ceremony at their home. They shared over eleven years together before he preceded her in death in 2014. Ozenna will be remembered for her one-of-a-kind personality. She was a caregiver who genuinely loved people and volunteered with many veteran and senior community groups, and most recently with Hospice of Lenawee. In her spare time, Ozenna loved gardening - especially her roses, shopping, and cooking. She owned a dune buggy, that she loved to “zoom” around on; and had a love for motorcycles and classic cars. Ozenna is survived by her children, Garre A. (Stephanie) Haskell of Oberlin, OH, Marlena Dean Rausch of Cleveland, and Marnie Kay Hunt of Fort Myers, FL; step-children, Greg (Sydney) Haskell of Montana, and Kelly (Rodney) Carter of Adrian; grandchildren, Kira Lynn (Katie) Koster-Peek, Charlie David Peek, Katie Lynn (Bret) Kartochvil, Krista Marie Rausch, Anna Elizabeth Rausch, Jon Paul Rausch, Jaxson Brown, Nathan Hunt, Nicholas Hunt, Brianna Hunt, and Kaylynn Hunt; step-grandchildren, Sara E. Wilson, Shane Wilson, Heather Baughey, Austin Bloomer, and Gunner Bloomer; several great-grandchildren; and nieces LeAnn (Chris) Lolley-McCue and Amy (David) Lolley-Sumner In addition to her parents, and beloved husband, Bob, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Leslie Peek in 1999; son, Tommy Jason Monday in 2004; and brother, Dannie L. (Pat) Lolley. Visitation for Ozenna will take place on Sunday, September 12, 2021 from 1:00-4:00 p.m. at Wagley Funeral Home, Adrian. Private graveside services will take place on Monday at Lenawee Hills Memorial Gardens, Tecumseh, where she will be laid to rest. The family suggests that memorial contributions to honor Ozenna’s memory be made to the Lupus Foundation of America, an organization very dear to her heart.
