Noe Garza Sr.

BLISSFIELD- Noe Garza, Sr., 92, formerly of Blissfield, MI died on Tuesday afternoon, September 19, 2023 at Springcreek Rehabilitation & Nursing Center surrounded by his family. Noe was born on June 6, 1931 in Santa Rosa, Texas, the son of Albert and Francisca (Juarez) Garza. When Noe was in his early 20’s he decided he was ready for a new adventure and relocated to Michigan. Noe and Virginia Saldivar were united in marriage in 1955 at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Blissfield. During their 42 years together, they raised 9 children and created many memories. Noe’s Catholic faith was always a central part of his life, whether it was making sure his children received their sacraments, leading bible studies in the family home or taking time to read from his personal Bible. Noe’s faith helped him deal with the loss of his beloved, Virginia, on November 22, 1997. For over 25 years Noe worked at the Medusa Cement Plant in Sylvania, OH overseeing the maintenance department. He often traveled to Texas for the winter months where he could visit with his family and get away from the cold. It was after Noe retired that he found time for his hobby, flea markets and auctions. He loved the excitement of buying and selling treasures that he would find on his outings. Noe was proud of his family and always made sure they knew they were loved by him. He is survived by his children, Noe Garza, Jr., Rosa Lee, Odilia (Juan) Bosquez, Joel Garza, Gabriel Garza, Virginia Garza, Olga Sanborn and Belinda Garza; many, many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great, great-grandchildren; and his sister, Chelo Garza. Noe was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia; daughter, Esmeralda Garza; daughter-in-law, Kelly Garza; grandson, Stephen Negrete and brother, Albert Garza. A scripture service will be held on Saturday, September 23, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at Wagley Funeral Home, Tagsold Chapel, Blissfield with Fr. Jeffrey Poll. Burial will follow at Pleasant View Cemetery in Blissfield. Visitation will take place on Friday, September 22, 2023 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
