Ludwig Joseph Zuzek

ADRIAN- Ludwig Joseph Zuzek, 82, of Adrian, Michigan died Tuesday morning, September 19, 2023 at Toledo Hospital. Ludwig was born on July 11, 1941 in Hibbing, Minnesota, the son of Ludwig and Frances (Hrebar) Zuzek. He was raised in Beaverdale, PA and went on to earn his Bachelor of Science degree in chemical engineering from Pittsburgh University. It was during his time at Pitt University that he met his future wife, Sabine Josy. They were married on December 3, 1966 in Pittsburgh, PA and have celebrated over 56 years together. Ludwig worked at Wacker Chemical for over 30 years. He and Sabine belonged to Moose Lodge #1034 for over 50 years, where they enjoyed seeing their friends. If there was a Pittsburgh sports team playing on television, you could find Ludwig watching and cheering them on. He was dog lover his whole life having numerous pets during his lifetime, amongst his favorite breeds were poodles and Scotties. Ludwig was a bargain shopper at heart and loved the “hunt” of finding a good deal. Some of these deals he needed and some he did not… Another great deal Ludwig believed in was food buffets. It was not uncommon to spend a couple of hours in a restaurant, pacing yourself and getting your money’s worth in a meal. It was important for Ludwig to stay up to date on current events and he would religiously tune in to MSNBC to hear about politics, finances, and world events. He had a close relationship with his son, Eric, and often their phone calls could end up being 2 to 3 hours long. Ludwig always had time to share his views and opinions with his son. In addition to his wife, Sabine, Ludwig is survived by his son, Eric (Emilie) Zuzek of Grand Rapids, MI and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Joyce (Howard) Lawlis. Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 22, 2023 at 1:00 PM at Wagley Funeral Home, Adrian with Rev. Larry Betz officiating. Burial will follow at Lenawee Hills Memorial Gardens in Tecumseh. Visitation will take place from 12:30 PM until the start of the service.
