Larry Gene Bowerman

ADRIAN – Larry Gene Bowerman, 67, of Adrian died Tuesday evening, May 4, 2021. Born November 14, 1953 at the Naval Base on Quonset Point, Rhode Island, he was the son of Lawrence and June (Price) Bowerman. Larry was a proud 1972 graduate of Madison High School. During his high school years, he excelled at basketball and baseball. He earned the MVP designation in basketball his Junior Year. He obtained his Associate’s Degree in Forestry from Michigan Tech in 1974. On August 19, 1988, Larry married Jeanne Ross in Toledo. She survives to cherish over 32 years of love and laughter. Larry was employed for over 30 years as a Custodial Technician and in the Maintenance Department for Adrian Public Schools. In his spare time Larry loved to play golf and was a part of many leagues throughout the area. He had a love of hunting, being outdoors and birdwatching from his chair. He was known for his undying love/hate relationship with the Detroit Lions. Above all, Larry loved his family and spending time with his grandchildren. In addition to his wife, Jeanne Ross-Bowerman, he is lovingly survived by his parents Lawrence and June Bowerman; children, Kasey (Randee) Bowerman, Kelley (Scott) Nelson, Robert (Tonya) Ross, Jim (Sarah) Ross, and Jon-Michael (Kari) Ross; twelve grandchildren, Blake, Anna, Makayla, Jack, Erik, Kaylee, Owen, Ethan, Jimi, Jesi, Konner, and Keilan; two great-grandsons, Gavin and Tristan; and siblings, Steve Bowerman, Cheryl (Brion) Crawford, and Karen Bowerman. Larry was preceded in death by his son Keith Bowerman. Cremation will take place. A memorial service for Larry will be held on Wednesday, May 12, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Wagley Funeral Home, Adrian with Rev. Larry Betz officiating. A memorial visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday and continue until the time of the service. Following the Governor’s executive order, all attendees are required to wear a proper face covering, with the exception of those under the age of five years old or those who cannot medically tolerate. The family suggests that memorial contributions to honor Larry’s memory be made to the Lenawee Intermediate School District (LISD), a place and its students very dear to Larry’s heart, or a children’s charity of one’s choice.
