Kelvin Lee Cook

ADRIAN—Kelvin Lee Cook, 41 of Adrian, passed away Friday, May 27, 2016. He was born in Adrian to Douglas Cook and Rita (Bennett) Estep on July 11, 1974. On June 28, 1997, he married Alicia Stroud, who survives. Kelvin was a 1992 graduate of Berean Baptist Academy and a 1996 Hyles-Anderson College graduate. He served as Assistant Pastor at Berean Baptist Church for 10 years, where he worked in the Senior Citizen Ministries. Most recently he was employed at Mahar Tool Supply Company in Dundee. Kelvin grew up fishing with his grandpa on Lake Erie. Kelvin was active in sporting events and athletics in his younger years. He was a handyman and truly had a giving spirit. He enjoyed helping others. In addition to his wife, Alicia, he is survived by his parents, Doug (Denise) Cook of Adrian and Rita (Bill) Estep of Millington, MI; his three children, Leah Cook, Ryan Cook, and Ethan Cook, all at home; brothers, Michael (Linda) Cook of Adrian, Jason (Liz) Cook of New Braunfels, TX, and Christopher Cook of Adrian; grandparents, Clark and Lois Bennett of Adrian and William Cook of Adrian; in-laws, Larry and Sheila Stroud of Statesville, NC; brother-in-law, Chris (Alisha) Stroud of Statesville, NC; sister-in-law, Gina (Kevin) Kasinger of Ashville, NC; several aunts, uncles, and cousins, especially his Great-Aunt, Donna Pearson of Adrian, with whom he spent much time; and his nieces and nephews, Nolan, Kendal, Clark, Lauren, Trevor, Paige, Elijah, Elise, Grayson, Bryson, and Tinsley. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Nancy Cook; and his close uncle, Chuck Pearson. Funeral services for Kelvin will be 11 a.m., Wednesday, June 1, 2016 at the Cornerstone Baptist Church, 4014 Station Rd. (Ogden Station), Blissfield with Rev. Joey Weaver, officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Wagley Funeral Home, Adrian and again on Wednesday at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.
