Joyce J Sigler

ADRIAN—Joyce J. Sigler, 89 of Adrian, passed away Saturday, September 16, 2017. She passed away at the Lenawee Hospice Home surrounded by those that loved her. The family would like to thank Hospice of Lenawee nurses and staff for their loving care shown to Joyce. Born on August 14, 1928 in Adrian, Joyce was the daughter of the late Arthur and Eva (Langdon) Ott, Sr. She was a graduate of Adrian High School Class of 1946. On August 23, 1948, she married Clyde Sigler in Angola, IN; they were blessed with 69 years of marriage until his death in September, 2014. Joyce worked for 17 years at Heard Lock in Adrian. Joyce and her husband Clyde were both baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses in 1949. In 1955, they sold their first house and their belongings to travel to the First World Wide International Assembly of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Europe. They spent 6 weeks traveling to 5 different countries to enjoy up building Bible talks and discussions, wonderful association with friends and to see the beautiful creation and sights of foreign countries. When they came home from their travels, they bought very modest and humble accommodations so that they were free to use all of their time, energy and resources to help others in their community to learn about Jehovah God and the Bible. Joyce enjoyed taking photographs and filling many albums with precious memories of friends in her congregation. She loved animals and enjoyed the many cats and dogs they had over the years. Joyce also enjoyed making handmade greeting cards for her family and friends. She always had a special way of making you feel loved and appreciated by one of her cards. Now she is asleep in death in Jehovah’s memory awaiting the wonderful promise of a resurrection to a beautiful paradise on earth in the very near future. These promises from Jehovah God found in the Bible at John 5:28, 29 and Psalms 37:10, 11, 29 were scriptures she shared frequently to others to help give them hope for the future. Joyce is survived by her brother, Arthur ‘Sonny’ (Gretchen) Ott, Jr. of Georgia. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Clyde. As Joyce requested, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will take place 1:30 pm on Saturday, September 23, 2017 at The Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 2239 Baldwin Highway, Adrian with Kevin Neumann officiating .
