Jennifer Renee Stepp Dempsey

ADRIAN- Jennifer Renee Stepp Dempsey, age 53, of Adrian, Michigan, passed away at home, surrounded by her loving family, on Friday, October 21, 2022, after a courageous three-and-a-half year battle with brain cancer. She was born on October 2, 1969 in Livonia, Michigan to Robert and Fern (Morrissette) Stepp. On July 24, 1993, she married Michael Daniel Dempsey, of Adrian, at St. Edith Church, in Livonia. She was most recently employed as a purchasing manager for Uckele Health and Nutrition in Blissfield. Jennifer is survived by her husband, Michael, of 29 years; daughters, Emma of Chicago and Madeline and Molly of East Lansing; parents Robert and Fern Stepp of Adrian; her uncle, Eric (Janice) Morrissette of South Hadley, MA; mother-in-law, Jane Dempsey; sisters-in-law, Eileen Godek and Kathleen (Rick) Barker; brothers-in-law, Russ (Lesley) Dempsey and John (Melissa) Dempsey; and several nieces and nephews. Jennifer was preceded in death by her brother, Robert J. Stepp, Jr.; paternal grandparents, Clayton and Doris Stepp; maternal grandparents, Ferial and Annette Morrissette; and father-in-law, Patrick R. Dempsey. Jennifer received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Michigan State University and a Masters of Business Administration from Eastern Michigan University. She enjoyed spending time with her family, reading, attending Michigan State sporting events, and spending time at her happy place in Longboat Key, Florida. The family is grateful for the outpouring of support from family and friends. A funeral mass for Jennifer will be celebrated by Father Mike Newman, OSFS, on Wednesday, October 26, 2022, at 10:30 a.m., at Holy Family Parish, St. Mary’s Campus in Adrian. The family will receive family and friends for visitation at Wagley Funeral Home in Adrian on Tuesday, October 25, 2022, between 2 p.m. and 8 p.m., with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. An additional visitation will be held on Wednesday morning at the church, from 9:30 a.m. until mass begins. Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery, immediately following mass. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Lenawee, Adrian Schools Educational Foundation, or Holy Family Parish, St. Mary’s Campus.
