Jean Elizabeth Harsh

ADRIAN- Jean Elizabeth Harsh, age 95, of Adrian, passed away on Tuesday, October 16, 2018, at Lenawee Medical Care Facility. She was born on February 23, 1923, in Cambridge Township to Herald J. and Erma (Lawrence) Drake. Jean graduated from Onsted High School. On August 20, 1948, Jean married Leonard A. Harsh and they celebrated over 51 years together before his passing on May 3, 2000. Jean and Leonard loved to square dance and belonged to the Shawnee Squares Dance Club. She was a dedicated volunteer to many organizations such as the American Red Cross, Herrick Hospital Auxilary and Herrick Manor. Jean enjoyed traveling on Senior Bus Trips out of Tecumseh, playing cards, reading and working on jigsaw puzzles. Jean’s dedication to her family was evident in her involvement with 4-H over the years while her children were growing up and attending her grandchildren’s sporting and school events. Survivors include her children, JoAnne (Steve) Wickham of Adrian, Lenette (Marshall) Smith of Adrian, Christine (Pete) Mitchell of Adrian, Frank (Debra) Harsh of Tecumseh and Doug (Debra) Harsh of Tecumseh; grandchildren , Pamela Wickham, Jeff (Jacquie) Simpson, Josh (Laurie) Simpson, Stephanie (Chris) Smith, Tricia (Corey) McCarty, Scott (Autumn) Smith, Ryan (Amber) Smith, Megan (Dave) Crawford, Matt (Tara) Mitchell and Nicole Mitchell (Ryan Hildbrand); 18 great- grandchildren; brother, Hugh (Joyce) Drake and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Leonard, son-in-law, Steve Wickham, and brother, Elwyn (Helen) Drake. Jean’s family would like to thank the staff at Lenawee Medical Care Facility and Hospice of Lenawee for the wonderful care and support they provided to their mother. Funeral services for Jean will be on Saturday, October 20, 2018, at 11:00 a.m. at Wagley Funeral Home with Pastor Joel Sarrault officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Adrian. Visitation will be on Friday, October 19, 2018, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home and again one hour prior to the service on Saturday.
