Edward J. Cambal

BLISSFIELD - Edward John Cambal, spent 85 precious years with us. He peacefully went to be with the Lord on Friday, December 16, 2016 surrounded by his loving wife and family. Edward was born at home in Blissfield to John and Frances Cambal on June 3, 1931. His parents came to the United States from Czechoslovakia. He was a 1949 graduate of Metamora High School. He married the love of his life; Sharon Frasier on April 26, 1958 and she survives. Polka dancing is one of the activities Ed enjoyed with his wife Sharon as this is how their relationship started. Ed was a long-time local farmer who shared his knowledge of farming with his grandchildren. They love their collection of tractors and will miss grandpa’s sense of humor to brighten their day and seeing him at their sporting events. In addition to farming, Ed worked at UAP, now Crop Production Services. Ed loved his visits back to see his family in Europe and continued to speak Czech to his family. Edward and Sharon are parishioners of Light of Christ Catholic Church. He loved the Detroit Tigers and watching University of Michigan football. Together they are loving parents of 3 surviving children; son, Steven (Tina) Cambal; daughter, Brenda Cambal; and son, Ronald (Barb) Cambal; ten grandchildren, Stephanie (Johnny) Vansteenkiste, Jennifer (Stuart) Bradley, Edward (Maegan) Zimmanck, twins: Taylor & Erin Cambal, Tiffany Dowling, Kelsey (Brandon) Ledbetter, David (Elizabeth) Hueter, Michael and Eric Tiede. Ed’s pride and joy are his seven great-grandchildren: Max, Sam, Harper, Landon, Zoey, Tommy and Marc. Siblings surviving are Mary Sedlacek, Elsie (Vic) Demey, and Betty Kudlac along with many close nieces and nephews. Visitation for Ed will take place from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Monday, December 19, 2016, at Wagley Funeral Home Tagsold Chapel, Blissfield where there the Rosary will be recited at 6:30 p.m. Funeral Mass will begin at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, December 20, 2016 at Light of Christ Parish, Blissfield with Rev.
