Charles "Chuck" Earl Fetzer

BLISSFIELD- Charles “Chuck” Earl Fetzer, of Blissfield, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 7, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Blissfield on February 13, 1950, Chuck was one of five children born to Paul and Violet Fetzer. Chuck spent his entire life in Blissfield, even living on the same street throughout the years. He took pride in his hometown and the life he built there alongside his family and friends. On April 24, 1971, Chuck married the love of his life, Sue. Together, they shared 55 wonderful years of marriage and recently celebrated their anniversary last month. Their life together was centered around family, laughter, and making memories. They raised four children and enjoyed many happy times at their lake house, where Chuck loved to fish, as well as bowling at Rich Lanes and participating in local softball leagues. After becoming a father, one of Chuck’s greatest passions was serving as a Project Parent at the Lenawee County Fairgrounds. He dedicated more than 25 years to the program and proudly served as Project Parent President. Chuck especially enjoyed working in the kitchen, serving families and 4-H participants, and spending time in the pig barn, where he loved teaching kids how to work with their pigs during showmanship competitions. Chuck will be remembered for his infectious laugh, his stubborn streak that those closest to him lovingly knew well, and the genuine joy he found in life and the people around him. He treasured his family above all else and leaves behind countless memories that will continue to bring smiles to those who loved him. He is survived by his beloved wife, Sue Fetzer; his children, Troy Fetzer, Tracy (Dan) Stubli, Tammy (Matt) Labudda, and Tary (Mike) Alexander; and his ten grandchildren. Chuck was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Violet Fetzer; his brother, Bob Fetzer; and his grandchildren, Tensley Marie-Lynn Dunigan and Charley Ann Alexander. Honoring Chuck’s wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral services. A celebration of his life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the America Heart Association, where Chuck believed in volunteering, donating and giving back, including devoting countless hours to donating blood to the American Red Cross on a regular basis.
