Bernard George Brosamer

ADRIAN – Bernard George Brosamer, age 93, of Adrian died early Sunday morning, August 14, 2022 at his home, surrounded by his family, while under the compassionate care of Hospice of Lenawee. He was born on October 23, 1928 in Britton, Michigan to Joseph and Olive (Upell) Brosamer. Bernard graduated from Blissfield High School. Following high school, Bernard served in the United States Army from 1950 to 1953. On August 1, 1953, he married Rose Knaggs in St. Anthony, Michigan. They were married for 59 years prior to her death in 2012. Bernard was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Adrian. He worked for the Michigan Department of Transportation for 30 years before retiring in 1989. In his spare time, Bernard enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time at his cabin in the U.P. He especially enjoyed spending time with his precious grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He will forever be remembered for his kindness and big heart. He was always willing to help others, especially his neighbors. Bernard is survived by his children, Thomas (Danielle) Brosamer of Adrian, Bonita (David) Hunter of Casnovia, MI, James (Amy) Brosamer of Tecumseh, Allen Brosamer of Adrian, and Judy (Randy) Dysert of Ada, Ohio; 10 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by his family. In addition to his wife, Rose, Bernard was preceded in death by his son, Stephen Brosamer; daughter, Mary Kluge; son-in-law, Fred Kluge; granddaughter, Tiffany Hunter; and several brothers and sisters. In accordance with Bernard’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated by Rev. Father Michael Newman, OSFS, on Monday, August 22, 2022, at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Family Parish, St. Joseph’s Campus, 405 Ormsby St., Adrian, MI. Rite of Committal will immediately follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery. Military honors will be conducted by Annis Fint Post #1584 and American Legion Post #97. The family will receive guests for visitation at the church on Monday, August 22, 2022, from 9:30 a.m. until Mass begins. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Hospice of Lenawee or St. Joseph Catholic Church.
