Barbara Sue Redlin

ADRIAN- Barbara Sue Redlin, 80, of Adrian, went to be with the Lord and joined her husband, Norman, in Heaven on Thursday, May 5, 2022 at Lynwood Manor, under the care of Hospice of Lenawee with her family by her side. Born on June 10, 1941 in Adrian, she was the third daughter to Clifford LaVerne and Beulah Matilda (Hawley) Lane. She attended Adrian Public Schools while growing up. On August 6, 1967 Barbara married Norman Redlin in Toledo, Ohio and they shared 54 wonderful years together before his death on September 26, 2021. Barbara embraced being a mother and homemaker, always putting others’ needs before her own. She demonstrated what unconditional love looked like and accepted everyone. Barbara was an excellent baker and always made enough to feed an army and then “a little extra” just to be sure. She had a natural green thumb with house plants, and they thrived in her home. In her younger days, Barbara shared her beautiful voice singing in the church choir and whenever there was an opportunity for karaoke. She appreciated nature and especially enjoyed watching butterflies. Throughout her life, Barbara has enjoyed the companionship of her four-legged friends. Her family can vouch that there was always at least one pet dog at home. Barbara is survived by her children, Nancy (Donnie) Scott, Vicky (Al) Smith, Sherri (Michael) Hardy, and Bradley (Shelley) Redlin; six grandchildren, Jennifer (Ryan) Downard, Danielle (Zach) Whaley, Benjamin (Bailey) Hardy, Liam Hardy, William Redlin, and Chase Redlin; and her two great-granddaughters, whom she loved dearly, Tegan and Matilda Whaley. Being a grandmother and great-grandmother were titles Barbara wore with pride. She was never too busy for family and would often help with crafts or filling out Valentine’s Day cards with her great-granddaughters. She is additionally survived by her sister, Janice Raymond. In addition to her parents, and her beloved husband, Norm, Barbara was preceded in death by her sisters, June Fite and Joyce Lane. Funeral services for Barbara will be held on Friday, May 13, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. at Wagley Funeral Home in Adrian, with Minister Michael Hardy and Reverend Bolton officiating. Burial will follow at Deerfield Cemetery. Visitation will take place on Thursday, May 12, 2022 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
