Arloa Irmgard Myers

ADRIAN- Arloa Irmgard Myers, age 88 of Adrian, passed away at home on Monday, May 21, 2018, surrounded by her family. Arloa was born March 10, 1930, in Adrian, the only daughter to Edward and Alma (Eckert) Filter. Arloa graduated from Adrian High School with the Class of 1948. She worked as a switchboard operator for Kewauanee Scientific. Arloa met Harold J. Myers and fell in love. They were married on October 8, 1960, and she moved to the country and embraced every new experience that came with living on the farm. Harold and Arloa shared 47 wonderful years together before his death on December 9, 2007. Arloa was a long time member of St. Stephen’s Lutheran Church in Adrian. She was involved with 4-H as the family took their dairy cattle to the Lenawee County Fair for many years. She was an avid reader, enjoyed baking and would volunteer wherever she was needed. Arloa had a warm and outgoing personality and everyone that met her was considered a friend. She loved living on the family farm and spending time with her family. Everyone worked hard but the rewards were well worth the long days. Arloa was an animal lover and had a way with all the family’s dogs, cats and calves. She is survived by her daughters, Dr. Diane (Britt) Griffin of Adrian, and Laura (Gary) Gallup of Adrian; grandchildren, Nicole, Brittany, Mitch and Kate; sister-in-law, Carol Filter and brother-in-law, Merlin Myers. Arloa was preceded in death by her parents, husband and three brothers, Harold, Dalton and Herb. The family would like to thank Arloa’s special caregivers, Tina Keith, Angelica Casanova, Leslie Braun and Jill Hinkley for all the support and love they have shown during this difficult time. Funeral services for Arloa will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, May 25, 2018, at St. Stephen’s Lutheran Church in Adrian with Pastor Brian Keller officiating. Burial will follow at Hunt Cemetery. Visitation will be on Thursday, May 24, 2018, from 3:00-7:00 p.m. at Wagley Funeral Home and again on Friday at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
