I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. 8 Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day—and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing. 2 Timothy 4:7-8 ADRIAN - On January 7, 2013, Annabelle “Ann” Knoth went to her heavenly home where she joined the love of her life and best friend, Dick. Ann was born on November 24, 1930, in St. Louis, Missouri, to Mary Barbara “May” Bowers and Benjamin Phillips. On September 17, 1950, Ann married Richard C. Knoth in Adrian, and they celebrated 55 years of marriage prior to his death in January 2006. Ann was a strong, devoted Christian; and a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She has left many memories for us to cherish through our lives. Ann and Dick were avid Michigan fans. Together they enjoyed traveling, cooking, and spending time with their family. We will love and miss her forever. For many years Ann enjoyed working at the Village Corner Restaurant, delivering meals on wheels, and volunteering her services to the First United Methodist Church where she was an active member. Ann also attended Bethany Assembly of God in Adrian. Ann is survived by her children: Karol (Marc) Goodwin of Grosse Pointe Woods, MI; Kathy Wilzer of Adrian; and Richard (Darla) Knoth of Springfield, Missouri. Also left to cherish her memories are her grandchildren, Kendra (Jeff) Fleming of Grosse Pointe Woods, MI; Krista French of Adrian; Todd (Angel Garbarino) Goodwin of New Haven, MI; Melissa (Rusty) Ansted of Adrian; Kayla (Robert) Ahearn of Adrian; and Colin (fiancé Brooke Lawley) and Christopher Knoth of Springfield, MO. Ann also leaves behind fifteen great grandchildren and two step great granddaughters, her brother Benjamin (Nancy) Phillips of Monroe, cousin Darlene Coger of Toledo, and her devoted caregivers David Alm, Dolly Cabello, Gin Sparks, and Brigette Sneyd. In addition to her husband, Dick, she was preceded in death by her mother May Phillips, brother Earl Phillips and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. Funeral services for Ann will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, January 12, 2013, at Bethany Assembly of God in Adrian with Rev. Chris Clinchard, Rev. Ron Sparks, and Rev. Dave Cornwell officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Wagley Funeral Home on Friday from 1 to 8 p.m. Contributions in memory of Ann may be made to Great Lakes Hospice who provided wonderful care for the past 2 years, or the Lenawee Humane Society.
