Dr. Alan Lee Ellerholz

ADRIAN- Dr. Alan Lee Ellerholz, age 79, of Adrian, Michigan, passed away on Tuesday, April 21, 2026, with his family by his side at Ebeid Hospice in Sylvania, Ohio. Alan was born on February 24, 1947, in Highland Park, MI, the oldest son of Walter and Marie (Hayward) Ellerholz. After graduating in 1965 from Robichaud High School in Dearborn Heights, Alan went on to attend Logan College of Chiropractic in Normandy, Missouri. He completed his studies and graduated with his Doctorate in 1970. On July 12, 1969, Alan married Pattie Wilkins in Ferguson, Missouri. For the next 56 years, Alan and Pattie worked hard writing their story which included raising a family, running a family business and taking time to enjoy all their blessings. Alan started Ellerholz Chiropractic in 1970. For over 50 years, Alan’s career was in the field of general chiropractic; where he valued the relationships and friendships he had with his staff and patients. Alan belonged to the Michigan Association of Chiropractors for many years. Alan and Pattie were longtime members of Bethany Assembly of God in Adrian. He enjoyed bowling and was part of the Lenawee County Bowling Association and past president of the Michigan State Bowling Association. He was an umpire for the high school level and city rec leagues in softball. Alan looked forward to time away from the office and going on vacation with the family, where they traveled throughout the United States. Alan and Pattie especially enjoyed their cruise to Alaska, and trips to London and Hawaii. A dedicated Michigan sports fan to the end, Alan cheered on his Wolverines, Red Wings, Lions, Tigers and Pistons; he even attended Tiger Fantasy Camp in Lakeland, Florida. When he was younger, Alan completed five Detroit Free Press Marathons. In addition to his wife, Pattie, Alan will be missed by their children, Tami (Ron) Farrington and Jeff (Amy) Ellerholz; grandchildren, Brittani (Griffin Klemick) Farrington, Grant (Kamoy) Farrington, Brooke (Thomas Gary) Farrington, Brendan Ellerholz and Kayla Ellerholz; great-granddaughters, Juniper and Evangeline Klemick and Zyla Gary; siblings, Julie (Bill) Reinholt, Larry (Pat) Ellerholz and Rick Ellerholz and loving extended family members. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Gary (Jerri) Ellerholz; and in-laws, Cecil and Jane (Hodges) Wilkins. Visitation will be held on Sunday, April 26, 2026, from 3 to 6 PM at Wagley Funeral Home, Adrian. Funeral services will take place on Monday, April 27, 2026, at 11 AM at the funeral home. Burial will be private. Family and friends are encouraged to wear your favorite Michigan team’s attire.
