Vivian Pauline Tack

JASPER- Vivian Pauline Tack, age 90 of Jasper, passed away on Wednesday, March 6, 2019, at Bixby Hospital with family by her side. She was born on September 23, 1928, in Pulaski, Ohio to Dewey and Beulah (Partee) Schlosser. After high school, Vivian went on to earn her teaching degree from Defiance College. She taught in the Ayersville School District and retired after 30 years. Vivian’s nurturing and thoughtfulness of others was demonstrated in all areas of her life. Vivian always worked for the children’s benefit; it was never about the money she earned. In 1947 she married John F. Kurivial and they celebrated over 46 years before his passing in 1994. They were blessed with four children Carole, Suzanne, John and David Michael. Vivian married her second husband, Raymond Tack on October 1, 1999, in Defiance, OH, and they shared 19 wonderful years together. Vivian was passionate about teaching and belonged to Alpha Delta Kappa. Always one to stay busy, she was a lifetime member of the VFW Auxiliary Post #3360 in Defiance, OH, belonged to the Moose Club in Adrian, and the Antique Tractor Clubs in Adrian and Wauseon, OH. Vivian was also a member of Light of Christ Catholic Parish in Blissfield. Vivian enjoyed polka dancing, playing cards and especially liked mowing the yard in the warmer months. Vivian always made time for family and nourished them with her wonderful cooking. She is survived by her husband, Raymond Tack; children Carole (Randy) Eades, Suzanne Kurivial, John (Sandra) Kurivial, and David Michael (Carol) Kurivial; stepchildren, Karen Malburg , Colleen Peebles and Wayne Tack; 10 grandchildren, 6 step-grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, and 8 step great-grandchildren; siblings, Dewey Schlosser, Elaine Carpenter, Sandra Joost, Penny Whitfield and June Crosser. Vivian was preceded in death by her parents and first husband, John Kurivial; siblings, Donald, James, Betty Mae and Carole Sue Schlosser, Marjorie Miller, Theodore Schlosser and Joanne Luderman. Mass of the Christian Burial will take place at 11a.m., Saturday, March 9, 2019, at Light of Christ Catholic Parish in Blissfield with Rev. Jeffrey Poll as celebrant. Burial will be private. Visitation will be held at Wagley Funeral Home Tagsold Chapel in Blissfield on Friday, March 8, 2019 from 4-8 p.m. with a Rosary Service at 7 p.m.; and again on Saturday at the church from 10 to 10:45 a.m. Contributions in memory of Vivian are suggested to Light of Christ Catholic Parish or Ayersville Local Schools.
